When did you start your website and why?

We started our website late 2006. The site started as a case study project to give objective independent information about all sorts of loans and all aspects that come with it.

Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc

With our website we try to give an objective view of all sorts of loans available. We give tips and advice and lot's of background information.

What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?

Time. Building a site is time consuming. Especially if it is a case study which we build in our spare time.

What has been the easist part of operating your website?

Writing content.

What was your biggest mistake?

Trying to follow all the SEO guidelines you can find on the internet. So we've stopped doing that. We now just focus on building our site purely for our visitors.

Me and a fellow student

Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website?

Not applicable

What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet?

As the internet is growing in such a rapid pace it is quite difficult to keep up with it.

What are your views on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

Since everything is changing so fast we don't even bother. We just follow the basic guidelines. We try to build our site for our visitors, not for the search engines.

What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?

It's hard to get high rankings, but we try get get free traffic from the search engines. We don't do PPC.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

I guess the most important factor, besides quality content, is to get lots of incoming links to our site.

What method has been least successful for promoting your website?

PPC and viral marketing

What would you like to see change with respect to the internet?

I'd like to see spam get banned.

How can visitors of your site help you?

When people benefit from our site and find the information they were looking for useful, then we have succeeded in our mission. To help us it would be appreciated when people who have a website of their own would link to us.
