The Borrowers Advocate, LLC Interview

By Interviewer at 05/14/08 12:41

Name of your website?

The Borrowers Advocate, LLC

Your name?

Todd Morganti

Your Location (city, etc)

Frederick, Maryland

Please give us a short summary of your website?

We are the only company that we know of in the United States with the sole mission to help the consumer that is involved in any type of mortgage transaction. Whether you are buying a home, refinancing your mortgage or having difficulty with your current mortgage, we can help protect you from predatory lending practices, excessive fees, loan steering and even foreclosure. We are here to educate you, answer your questions truthfully and help you and guide you through the process without having to pay the high costs associated with other so called 'experts' who are most likely just more loan officers trying to get your money. You won't find an application or a link to an application on our website.

We are not a lender. We are not a mortgage broker, and we are not affiliated with any Lender, Mortgage Broker, financial institution, realtor or other interested party in your mortgage transaction.

Every service we offer is based on a flat fee. No commissions, no third party interests, payouts etc.

We get the banks approval quickly for short sale with our state of the are software. We can also facilitate may other types of foreclosure prevention and modifications.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

After Many years in the mortgage industry working for some of the largest banks I decided I wanted to do something that would make a difference in peoples lives. Helping them through the mortgage process and helping people keep their homes is a good way to use my knowledge, help people and still make a living. So I formed "The Borrowers Advocate, LLC" to help people.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

This is my first website and the first company that I have started.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

I wanted a name that said very clearly who we are and what we do. This is what we came up with.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

Most companies that claim to offer similar services really either mortgage companies or investment companies. We truly work for the consumer and everything we do is done on the consumers behalf. We operate on a small flat fee when others charge hundreds and even thousands more.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Not sure yet. Right now it is my hope that we will help a lot of people and of course also to make a living and stay in business. I would like to grow the company to a very large scale and perhaps offer similar services in other areas, auto's for example.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Balance? Not a lot of balance yet but that should come with success. For now, everything is about the company and making it work. Hopefully consumers will recognize the need for what we are offering.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

We really believe that there is a need for what we are offering and the current state of the housing industry seems to support that belief. If I had an unlimited budget it would be used primarily to get the word out that we are here. Advertising is expensive. When people realize we are here and that we are not just another mortgage company trying to give them a loan they will use us.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

YES. Over the years I have managed large teams of people and formed many solid relationships. Many of those people have already asked if they could come work at our new company. When the time is right and we are ready we can bring on many more very quickly.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

The biggest thing is just getting the word out. Thousands spent on Website development, search engine optimization etc. Advertising and choosing where and when to advertise and how much to spend is a real challenge.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Choosing a good site design and develpment company. It seems like everyone in the world is a website designer and the cost range incredible. Some companies charge small amounts others charge enormous amounts. We spent a fair amount of money on it but not so much that it ate up the entire budget. Hopefully others see it as a quality informative site.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

still working on it. Pay per click, SEO and directories like this have worked well.

What is your website address?
