One major problem that freelancers have to deal with is taking out mortgage loans. These traditionalist banks most likely require you to show that documents that you are earning something from traditional employers. This becomes a problem because you can't show anything!

Don't worry, there are still institutions out there who are keeping in touch with the world, knowing full well that some people would rather do freelance work. Here's one mortgage company for you.
