Crest Capital - Equipment Loans & Eqipment Leases Interview

By Interviewer at 06/24/07 16:48
Name of your website?

Crest Capital - Equipment Loans & Eqipment Leases

Your name?

Melissa Roudi

Your Location (city, etc)

Atlanta

When did you start your website and why?

Crest Capital created our original website in the late 1990s to serve as an online brochure to reduce the amount of printing we were mailing to people inquiring about equipment loans and equipment leases.

Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc

Crest Capital's current website has expanded to include useful functionality for Equipment Manufacturers & Dealers and Equipment Buyers such as Instant Monthly Payment Quotes and an Online Application. Crest Capital's business model is based on Application-Only Equipment Loans & Equipment Leases up to $150,000 without hassling with tax returns or financial statements. The benefit to our customers is lower rates and extremely fast turnaround.

Who maintains your website and why?

We contract with an Atlanta-based web developer to maintain and host the Crest Capital site primarily because we could not achieve the same professional quality with internal staff.

Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website?

The benefit of www.crestcapital.com has gone well beyond the original objective of reducing printed marketing material, and now significantly reduces the manpower overhead required to field phone calls related to Monthly Payment Quote requests.

What are your views on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

In our opinion, beyond corporate giants with deep IT staffing, mostly small entrepreneurial-type companies have spent time and resources on SEO. Crest Capital is a well-established medium-sized company that is just discovering the benefits of SEO. We believe many mid-market level companies, that have to-date ignored SEO, will also commence SEO campaigns in the coming months.

What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?

One major downside to Search Engine traffic for our business (Equipment Finance) is the inordinate amount of start-up and damaged-credit applicants that are attracted to our services, but are typically inelligible - ultimately squandering valuable resources. Like any business that must qualify prospects, it is a challenge for us since you don't get the opportunity to pre-screen visitors to the site.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Google Ads.

What method has been least successful for promoting your website?

Postcard mailings.

washington mortgage lenders Interview

By Interviewer at 06/24/07 12:22
Name of your website?

washington mortgage lenders

Your name?

Drew Stone

Your Location (city, etc)

Tacoma

When did you start your website and why?

Started my website 3 years ago, it has been a long process. I changed and this website has been up for only 2 months. I started the website to help people find good lenders to work with. There are so many mortgage lenders that simply lack experiance and rip people off.

Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc

I have a network of lenders here in washington state, they all have over 5 years experiance and specialize in various areas. When someone fills the form out on our website, I cutom match them with one of these lenders depending on what their specific needs are. All of these lenders provide free no obligation mortgage consultations. It is very pressure free for the borrower.

What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?

Time for content and getting quality links. I am currently getting ready to add a lot of content such as free reports to help educate people, and an about us page telling more about our service.

What has been the easist part of operating your website?

Nothing has been easy, I thought it was going to be easy but was I wrong. It takes a lot of work to build a quality website and get traffic.

What was your biggest mistake?

Hiring out some of the work on the site, I should of had more direct control over the structure and grafics. Now I have to go back and do it myself

Who maintains your website and why?

I maintain my website because I want control over what it will become. I have a vision that is hard for other people to see.

Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website?

Well, the business is still new.

What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet?

The internet is going to grow but starting a successful website is becoming harder and harder. I think local search is where people should focus at the moment, it is growing rapidly and there is still little competition.

What are your views on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

People should embrace it, find your nich and start building. Keywords are like virtual real estate. Once you dominate them, you own them. Real estate on the internet is becoming harder to come by.

What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?

Not sure yet because the site is still new

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Just starting various methods so it is hard to say.

What method has been least successful for promoting your website?

Haven't had enough time to answer this question. just starting my marketing campaign

What would you like to see change with respect to the internet?

There are to mmany spamers out there and to many people who run scams. They need stricter penalties for some of these people.

Do you think anyone can build a business on the internet?

Yes, absolutly! But it will take a lot of time and hard work as well as a large learning curve. With all the information out there it takes a while to sort through it and learn what works. Once you discover what works you will have all the right pieces to the puzzle.
